1/12/2024 0 Comments Oban star racers vrchat game![]() Groor is a one-off joke, while Toros and Kross threaten the genocide of humanity, but Canaletto somehow manages to overshadow them. Groor, Toros and Kross are also all very "genuine", but Canaletto is a sinister nature that isn't handled so "lightly" as the other villains. ![]() Yeah, Canaletto is a pretty fantastic villain. "I am the lord of Purity, who tolerates no deviation." I think on some level he saw in Eva his own rebellious nature: anger at a world where parents abandon their children, empires go to war on other races, and the Powers that be barely interfere.Ĭanaletto rationalized that he's doing the universe a favor by erasing it's flaws, but in the end he's just a hypocritical monster who can't see that he's become worse than even an imperialist bully like Kross. As was I", he was probably forced into the role of Avatar himself. In fact, judging by how he mutters, "you are all fooled. From what I understand, Canaletto was dissatisfied with this system and decided the only way to end the cycle was "fuck it, wipe it all out and start from scratch." You're an immortal Physical God but you outlive all your loved ones, you have the burden of the entire universe, and nothing you do makes a difference because eventually the power has to go to some other schmuck. Don't get me wrong, I don't find him sympathetic at all but I can almost understand where he's coming from.īeing the Avatar would suck. Compared to one-dimensional brutes like Groor, Toros and Kross, Canaletto seems genuine in his goals. I'd bet on either Netflix or HBO Max, honestly.Įdited by Zendervai on Mar 10th 2022 at 8:14:34 AMĪs long as anyone's still here, I must say I initially wrote off Canaletto as a generic evil conqueror when first watching OSR but thinking back he's honestly a fascinating character. It'd go to a company that does more cartoons and is used to that kind of budgeting. Oban was, as far as I could tell, a bit above average budget for a cartoon at the time and it was very high budget for an anime. Sony might do it, but Sony would then air it on TV or give it to one of the other streaming services. If only because their budgets for Onyx Equinox and High Guardian Spice were unusually small for cartoons, which lead to a lot of their problems. It would be a really odd and lateral move for Crunchyroll to randomly grab Oban and I really don't think Crunchyroll would be the one to fund a sequel season. Crunchyroll is now owned by Sony who are in the process of collecting all of their anime branding under the Aniplex and Crunchyroll labels. Yeah, and both Onyx Equinox and High Guardian Spice appear to have bombed and were (apparently) greenlit under Ellation's management.
